These images represent a new direction in my photography. For much of my 40-year career, I used a tripod-mounted, 4x5 inch view camera. Transitioning to digital, I missed some of the qualities of the old shoots. I’ve also always loved the look of the early photographic processes. I’ve begun shooting more with my iPhone and recreating images to resemble tintypes, daguerreotypes, autochromes, wet-plate collodion, and other early photo processes. I call these new images, Digitypes.
